InfoGraphics: Telling Compelling Stories with Your Data

We will begin by reviewing the differences and similarities between data visualization and information graphics, then focus on the design of information graphics – how you can tell more compelling, usable, and effective stories with your data. The workshop will end with a brief overview (and resource handout) on different, ready-made tools for visualization. 4 hours

Typography Crash Course

Typography is considered the most important part of most visual communication. And yet, it’s often the part of a design that’s left for last, or barely considered at all. Learning typography can appear overwhelming, with its rules and the thousands of typefaces available for download online. This workshop aims to change that. If you’re intimidated by typography, or even just aren’t quite sure where to start, we can help. We will start with an overview of the most useful typographic terms and concepts, then use a hands-on approach to better your typographic applications. 2 days / 12 hours
